The Insurance Department at Heart of Georgia Cardiology will be glad to assist you with any questions you might have regarding the filing of your insurance claims. We will file your primary insurance and them follow up with your secondary should you have two policies. We are participating with the following insurance plans:

• Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO
• Private Health Care Systems
• State Merit
• First Health Network
• Georgia First
• Medicare
• and others

If you have questions about whether we are participating with your carrier, please call your insurance company. The number would be on the back side of your ID card. Carriers and plans change almost daily, so it is always a good idea to check if you are in doubt. When visiting with us for the first time, please bring your insurance cards so we may get a copy to keep in our files. If your insurance should change, please let us know by giving us a copy of your new card. These will help us and get your bills paid promptly.

We do our best to avoid lengthy waiting periods once you are ready for your appointment. Emergencies, however, are out of our control and they do occur. Our doctors must respond to emergencies as a priority and we hope that our patients can have an understanding of this circumstance. Our staff will attempt to call you as soon as they are told that your doctor may be late or even unable to see you that day. We make every attempt to reach you; however, it may be possible that you have already left for your appointment. If it is necessary to reschedule your appointment, we appreciate your understanding. You will be given a new appointment. Your appointment may not be as soon as you would like. Please realize that if you should ever have a question or a problem before your appointment, call us. If you need to be seen earlier, we will arrange this for you.

You must bring these forms to us at least one week before they are due. We try our best to get these done quickly, but they take quite a bit of time. There is a $10.00 charge for each form we complete.
